An Artist Intervention Has Its Challenges

We’ve all seen on TMZ or Perez Hilton celebrities who have addiction problems. It seems like they go out night after night abusing drugs and alcohol and their families and friends sit by and do nothing. Staging an Artist Intervention has its challenges, especially if the artist has a wall set up of handlers who won’t let anyone close enough to them to fix the problem. Usually, they’ve surrounded themselves with a lot of yes people, people that are using and abusing just like them. The first step may be trying to get them alone.

Drug Addiction Intervention Is Very Different Than Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol and Drug addiction programs are serious problems. However, they are different addictions. If someone needs a Drug Addiction Intervention they are going to need a different kind of treatment from alcohol addiction. Having a marijuana addiction is very different than a heroin addiction. The first thing to figure out is what types of drugs this person is abusing. Are they lying, cheating and stealing to get money to pay for their addiction. They may not tell you. You may have to do some investigating on your own before staging an intervention.

Putting Together An Alcohol Intervention

You’ve decided that a loved one has an alcohol problem. They’ve been going out all night, hiding and stealing booze. They’ve been getting behind the wheel of a car totally wasted. You know it’s time to take matters into your own hands. Staging an Alcohol Intervention might be the first step to getting them help. But it probably won’t be the last. For the first intervention it’s a good idea to reach out to a rehab clinic. Get a specialist to come in and lead the intervention with a small group of the addict’s family and friends.
