Executive intervention can be tricky. Usually, you are dealing with a high profile person who has been able to get away with being an addict whether it’s alcohol or drugs for awhile because they are surrounded by yes people. Now even the yes people are saying there is a serious problem. Working to cover it up can be taxing for all parties involved. When people are finally ready to confront the addict about their addiction problem there is a sense of worry that they’ll put a wall around them so high that no one will be able to get to them again. Some people who have seen the addicts behavior firsthand may also be worried that if they say something the addict is going to hire them. That’s why, having an interventionist present is so important they really know how to keep things in check.
