After the initial identification of the Personal Recovery Assistant a phone or face to face interview is recommended to create a level of comfort and familiarity.

Assigning a Personal Recovery Assistant of the same gender is important and our best practice policy – unless it is otherwise clinically indicated, our services are always gender specific. Having the support and fellowship of individuals of the opposite gender can be an important part of the recovery process, but when you are working in close proximity and becoming an integral part of our client’s lives, gender specific assistance is common sense.

With offices on both coasts, Hired Power reviews over 400 resumes a year. Our interviewing and screening process is extensive and thorough. With this many incoming applications, we we’ve been able to establish a team of “cream of the crop” professionals totaling more than 85 Personal Recovery Assistants across the country.

Our Personal Recovery Assistants undergo an extensive screening process that includes, but is not limited to, thorough background checks, random drug screening, personality profiling, individual and group interviews, and are covered with professional liability insurance. We require compliance with exacting professional standards and ethics, ongoing community training and education.

*Note: An example of a match could be a client who is struggling with addiction to prescription pain medication and has to travel for business. We might place him or her with a Personal Recovery Assistant whose experience and expertise includes pain management and can relate to and support the struggle of transitioning home while on the road.

All of our services are completely confidential. We’re accustomed to working with a wide variety of professional, high-profile, older and young adult clients, and understand the importance of discretion. From community events, to social settings with friends and family, to work-related events, our Recovery Assistants support clients “behind-the-scenes” as they navigate challenging situations. We have been referred to as personal assistants, friends from out of town, life coaches, and drivers.

Having served the mental health and addiction industry for over a decade, we are happy to provide our clients and families with professional references from across the county.
