Interventions are a process, not an event

Early identification, diagnosis, and treatment are essential in any chronic life-threatening disease. The disease of addiction is both chronic and life-threatening for individuals and families. Studies show that an intervention establishes healthy boundaries between the client and their families, loved ones, and even employers. Interventions provide an opportunity to stop the chaos and destruction of active addiction and mental illness. Allowing the disease to progress without interruption is destructive not only to the individual but to the loved ones and community around them.

An important and invaluable part of the intervention process is finding an appropriate resource for ongoing treatment and services once the intervention is complete. Finding a treatment provider that can address the unique needs of each patient is essential. The executive team at Hired Power has been working with treatment professionals nationally for over 20 years. Our team has been “on the ground” with close to six hundred different treatment programs; meeting the clinicians, staff, and evaluating the overall environments.

The key to a successful Intervention is preparation, planning and professional experience.

Making the decision to change is the initial step in the intervention process. Whether a client is struggling with drugs, alcohol, mental health, gambling, or an eating disorder, the goal is to identify and address the systemic problems/issues and provide an opportunity to start healing. As an individual becomes more consumed by their disease, their health, and wellness decline, relationships suffer, productivity decreases and trust between friends and family members is lost. These effects seep into all areas of life and negatively impact the whole system, whether it be a family or work environment. Intervention services work with the family and loved ones to identify appropriate next steps in addressing an individual’s high risk, substance use, compulsive behaviors, and mental health-related issues.

Making the initial call to Hired Power and speaking with a professional interventionist will assist in creating a plan with the greatest potential for success. Establishing a professionally led, well-coordinated, and executed plan prepares a client and family for a successful transition to a treatment and aftercare experience.

What To Expect From An Intervention

The first step in the intervention process is to have a client’s unique situation assessed by one of our intervention specialists. Hired Power can be reached 24/7 to ensure that the client and their family can receive help when they need it most, so do not hesitate to call us and get started today. We respect the privacy and confidentiality of all phone calls.

Hired Power’s interventionists are a team of board-registered intervention professionals, certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADC), and participating members of the Association of Intervention Specialists. They are trained in and practice several different intervention models to ensure a well-rounded approach to any situation.

For your intervention, we work closely with the family and loved ones to create an intervention team of concerned individuals and loved ones for the best possible outcome. We will also develop the most appropriate treatment plan, from the drug and alcohol intervention itself through the transition back into the home environment. Although often overlooked, this transition is as important as the initial treatment experience to ensure life-long recovery.

Hired Power works with the client before, during, and after the intervention, including placement and a Personal Recovery Assistant. We offer a complete package that includes a pre-intervention workshop, intervention, 1-day safe passage, and 10 hours of case management.

The Intervention Process

Interventions Hired Power

Initial Call and Assessment

By calling 800.910.9299, you will begin the journey to a healthier relationship with your loved one. During the assessment, you will speak directly with the intervention specialist who will work with you and your family throughout the process. After determining if an intervention is the appropriate course of action, we will then complete an initial assessment that will include the client’s history and profile.

Preparation

Before the intervention takes place, your intervention specialist will guide the team through a preparation workshop and rehearsal. Depending on the time frame and level of urgency, the workshop could take place immediately. Sometimes, the preparation workshop can take longer than the actual intervention itself to ensure the best possible outcome. It is essential that everyone planning to participate in the intervention be present at the workshop.

The Intervention

The day of the scheduled intervention, the team and participants will meet at a predetermined location. When everyone is ready, the client will be addressed by friends and family in a safe, supportive way. We will notify the treatment center of the client’s acceptance and scheduled arrival to ensure they are prepared and accompany the client from the intervention to the facility unless other arrangements have been determined and arranged.

Follow up & Aftercare

Our intervention specialist will remain available throughout the course of treatment should any questions or concerns arise. We are also available for support and coaching while the client is in treatment.

When treatment has been completed, we work closely with the treatment centers, clinical and discharge teams to ensure a smooth transition into aftercare.

Types Of Interventions

Drug and Alcohol Interventions

Early diagnosis and immediate treatment for any chronic progressive disease increases the chances of successful recovery. Drug and alcohol addiction is no different.

Eating Disorder Interventions

Eating disorders can potentially be the most difficult and also one of the most life-threatening issues. If you suspect there is an eating disorder problem, either in yourself or someone close to you, it is important to act quickly.

Adolescent Interventions

The effective treatment of adolescents with substance abuse and behavioral disorders requires an approach that includes the attention to family, school, and social aspects of the young person’s life.

Gambling Interventions

People can struggle with addictions to things other than drugs or alcohol. Often called “process addictions,” one of the most common process addictions is gambling addiction.

Executive Interventions

If you have an employee or colleague struggling with an alcohol, drug abuse, or gambling issue an executive intervention is appropriate.
